Fitness blogger Morgan Mikenas is challenging beauty norms by ditching shaving for an entire year to promote natural beauty. Despite the women’s liberation movement beginning in the 1960s, the journey toward true gender equality still requires much work. Morgan, a vocal advocate for embracing one’s authentic self, is part of a growing movement of women who choose to proudly display their body hair, challenging society’s standards of beauty.

By going a whole year without shaving her legs or armpits, Morgan not only saved time and money but also made a bold statement about self-empowerment. In a recent YouTube video, Morgan explained, “I’m not trying to tell everyone to stop shaving their legs or armpits, but I want people to feel free to do what makes them comfortable.” She cited the time-consuming nature of shaving as a major factor in her decision, but also mentioned a personal experience: being bullied as a child for having hairy legs. Rather than conforming to societal pressures, Morgan chose to embrace her natural beauty.

Her boyfriend supports her decision, finding her beautiful no matter what. Morgan’s message is simple: “I want everyone to feel confident in themselves. It’s unfair that people feel pressured to fit into these cultural norms.” Through her experience, she hopes to inspire others to embrace what feels right for them.

Morgan’s video has already garnered over 200,000 views, and she continues to promote self-acceptance and individuality. While this might not be the right choice for everyone, Morgan’s journey serves as a reminder that beauty is personal and diverse.
